Student Coucil to host their first powwow

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College Student Council will co-host their first traditional Jiingtamok Powwow on May 25 in conjunction with the Third Annual Woodland Spirits Arts & Music Weekend.

Woodland weekend planned May 24 and 25.

Many Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort visitors never get the opportunity to become acquainted with Native American tradition, other than perhaps admiring various pieces of artwork and display cases within the facility.

Program empowers local youth

Tribal students have the opportunity this summer to participate in an educational and recreational program with other area youth.

Health plan being implemented

Benefits officials have been implementing a health care plan intended to provide basic coverage to enrolled members of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.

District 1 voters to have 19 candidates to select from May 17

Saginaw Chippewa voters will have 19 candidates to choose from when they head to the polls on May 17 to fill a District 1 vacancy on Tribal Council.
